The Condominium is located in the Township, between Valley Road and Acken Road. The population of the Township, based on a 1986 estimate by the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce, is approximately 13,335 persons. The Township, consisting of 23.2 square miles, is made up of the communities of Basking Ridge, Liberty Corner, Lyons and West Millington. The Township is located 40 miles west of New York City and 60 miles north of Philadelphia, and is near Routes 22, 202, 206 and Interstates 78 and 287. Rail service to Newark and New York is provided by Conrail at stations in Basking Ridge and Lyons. Bus service is also available to New York from the Lakeland Bus Company, which makes frequent stops along Route 202. New Jersey Transit buses also service the Township.
Both Amtrak and New Jersey Transit Passenger Rail Services are available in New Brunswick at the Railroad Station, located at Albany and French Streets. Service is available from this station to Philadelphia, Trenton, Newark and New York, with other national connections.
Air transportation is available at Newark International Airport, located at Exit 14 of the New Jersey Turnpike, approximately 21 miles east of the property. In addition, both LaGuardia Airport and Kennedy International Airport are within 50 miles of the Property. There are several smaller airfields in the Somerset area which serve private craft and charters. These include Kupper Airport in Somerville, Somerset Hills Airport in Basking Ridge, Somerset Airport in Bedminster, and Princeton Airport in Princeton.
There are several hospitals in the vicinity of the Property. Morristown Memorial Hospital, which has two branches, has 689 beds in the aggregate and is located at 100 Madison Avenue and at 95 Mount Kemble Avenue, Morristown. Located in New Brunswick is the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place; this facility has 416 beds. Other facilities include the Somerset Medical Center at 110 Rehill Avenue in Somerville, the Veteran's Administration Medical Center on Valley Road in Lyons (across Valley Road from the Condominium), the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceville, and the Carrier Foundation in Montgomery Township.
There are two elementary schools in the Township serving kindergarten through grade five, the Oak Street School and the Liberty Corner School. Children residing at the Condominium would attend the Liberty Corner School, located at 61 Church Street, Liberty Corner. The intermediate school serving grades 6 through 8 is the William Annin Middle School located at 70 Quincy Road, Basking Ridge. Ridge High School is located at South Finley Avenue in Basking Ridge. In addition to the local public schools, there is the Somerset County Vocational-Technical High School in Bridgewater.
Places of worship within the Township include: All Saints Episcopal Church, 15 Basking Ridge Road, Millington; Covenant Reformed Episcopal Chapel, 127 West Oak Street, Basking Ridge; the Fellowship Deaconry, Inc., Valley Road, Liberty Corner; Millington Baptist Church, 520 King George Road, Millington; Presbyterian Church of Basking Ridge, 1 East Oak Street, Basking Ridge; Presbyterian Church of Liberty Corner, Liberty Corner; Saint James' Roman Catholic Church, South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge; Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 140 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge; Somerset Hills Baptist Church SBC, 510 Mount Airy Road, Basking Ridge; Somerset Hills Church of Christ, 182 Morristown Road, Basking Ridge; Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, 350 Lake Road, Basking Ridge; and United Methodist Church, 22 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge.
The Bernards Police Department, a force of approximately 25 full-time officers, is stationed at the township municipal center, at Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge. The Police Department is responsible for the dispatching of one of two volunteer rescue squads which provide 24 hour emergency service. There are two volunteer fire departments which provide fire protection to Township residents. They are located in Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner.
Local shopping is available at the Lyons Mall on Stone House Road in Basking Ridge and in the Shopping/Business district on South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge. There are also many other shopping areas along Routes 202 and 206.
In addition to many private facilities and country clubs in the area, several parks near the Township offer varied recreational facilities. These include the 897-acre Lord Sterling Park in Basking Ridge, which offers a full program of public riding and group instructional classes in English horsemanship as well as an extensive trail system. Also located there is the Environmental Education Center which offers classes, courses and special programs in natural resource conservation. Located in nearby Far Hills, the Leonard J. Buck Garden is an unusual 33-acre garden of rock formations that are covered with rare plant specimens from around the world.
The Meadowlands Sports Complex, approximately 25 miles northeast of the property, includes Giants Stadium, home of the Giants and Jets professional football teams, as well as Brendan Byrne Arena, home of the New Jersey Nets professional basketball team and the New Jersey Devils franchise of the National Hockey League. The complex also includes a track for both thoroughbred horse racing and harness racing.
Water for the Property will be supplied by the Commonwealth Water Company. Sewerage service for the Property is supplied by the Township. Public Service Electric and Gas Company supplies electric and gas service. Telephone service is provided by New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. The Units will be pre-wired for cable television service. Interested Unit Owners may arrange for the connection of such services individually.
